Why DAI Staking

Stable yield,
serious infrastructure.

◈

Stablecoin yield, zero price risk

Because you stake and earn DAI — a USD-pegged stablecoin — your reward value is stable. No token price exposure on your principal or your earnings. Pure yield, measured in dollars, every day.

🌐

Two networks, one interface

Stake DAI on Ethereum for maximum security and DeFi composability, or stake DAI on BNB Chain for faster confirmations and lower gas costs. Switch networks in one click — your DAI staking position follows your wallet.

🔐

Audited, immutable contracts

DAI Staking smart contracts are non-upgradeable and have been audited by two independent security firms. No admin key can freeze or move your staked DAI. Audit reports are publicly accessible from the documentation page.

⚡

Flexible unstaking, always

There is no mandatory lock-up at any DAI staking tier. Unstake any amount at any time — your DAI returns to your wallet in the same transaction block. Optional voluntary lock-up periods unlock higher APY tiers for those who prefer them.

📈

Auto-compound available

Enable auto-compound on Growth and Vault tier DAI staking positions to automatically reinvest earned DAI rewards back into your principal daily. Your staked balance grows continuously without requiring manual claim transactions.

🗳️

Governance rights included

Every staked DAI earns governance voting rights over the DAI Staking protocol: fee parameters, reward distribution schedules, new tier proposals, and smart contract upgrade decisions are all decided by stakers on-chain.

Staking Tiers

Three tiers.
All flexible.

Choose the DAI staking tier that fits your strategy. Upgrade automatically when your balance grows — no manual tier switching required.

Stake DAI on
two blockchains.

Ethereum

Stake DAI as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum mainnet. Maximum security, deepest DeFi composability, and the largest DAI staking pool. Recommended for larger positions ($10,000+ DAI) where gas costs are proportionally small.

ERC-20 · DAI · All tiers available
BNB Chain

Stake DAI as a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain. Near-zero gas fees (typically under $0.02 per transaction), 3-second block times, and identical staking APY to Ethereum. Ideal for smaller DAI staking positions and frequent reward claiming.

FAQ

Everything about
DAI Staking.

Clear answers to the most common questions about staking DAI on Ethereum and BNB Chain.

DAI Staking is a decentralized, non-custodial stablecoin staking protocol available on Ethereum (ERC-20) and BNB Chain (BEP-20). It allows DAI holders to deposit their tokens into audited smart contracts and earn stable daily DAI rewards without any price risk on their principal or earnings. No account, email address, or KYC verification is required — only a compatible crypto wallet.
DAI is a decentralized USD-pegged stablecoin created by MakerDAO, backed by crypto collateral on Ethereum. Unlike volatile tokens, DAI maintains a stable $1.00 value. Staking DAI lets you earn yield on an asset that doesn't fluctuate in price — you deposit $100 worth of DAI and you always receive $100 worth of DAI back (plus rewards). This makes DAI staking one of the lowest-risk yield strategies in DeFi.
Visit dai-staking.com and click "Connect Wallet." Choose your preferred network (Ethereum or BNB Chain). Approve the DAI token allowance for the staking contract (one-time step per wallet). Enter the amount of DAI to stake — your tier activates automatically based on your deposit size. Click "Stake DAI" and confirm the transaction. DAI rewards start accruing from the very next block.
DAI Staking offers three APY tiers: Stable (from 100 DAI) at 8–12% estimated APY; Growth (from 5,000 DAI) at 14–22% estimated APY; and Vault (from 50,000 DAI) at 24–36% estimated APY. Rates are variable and depend on total protocol DAI staked and fee revenue. Live APY for each tier is displayed on your dashboard after connecting your wallet at dai-staking.com.
No mandatory lock-up exists at any DAI staking tier. The default mode is fully flexible — unstake any amount of DAI at any time and receive your tokens back within the same transaction block, with no penalties or cooldown periods. Voluntary lock-up options (30, 90, or 180 days) are available for stakers willing to commit to a fixed period in exchange for a higher APY multiplier, but these are strictly opt-in.
DAI Staking supports all major EVM-compatible wallets: MetaMask (recommended), Coinbase Wallet, Trust Wallet, WalletConnect (200+ mobile wallets), Ledger hardware wallet, Trezor hardware wallet, Rainbow, Rabby, and any EIP-1193 browser extension. Both Ethereum and BNB Chain staking use the same wallet connection — just switch the network in MetaMask (or your chosen wallet) between Ethereum Mainnet and BNB Chain.
The DAI staking APY, tier thresholds, and reward mechanics are identical on both networks. The main differences are cost and speed: Ethereum gas fees for DAI staking transactions typically range from $3–$15, while BNB Chain fees are under $0.02. BNB Chain blocks confirm in about 3 seconds vs Ethereum's ~12 seconds. For smaller DAI positions or frequent reward claiming, BNB Chain is more gas-efficient. For maximum security and DeFi ecosystem access, Ethereum is preferred.
Yes. The DAI Staking protocol's smart contracts on both Ethereum and BNB Chain have been independently audited by two security firms, with published audit reports linked from the documentation page. The contracts are non-upgradeable — once deployed, no party can modify them. All DAI staking, reward calculation, and withdrawal logic is on-chain and verifiable. An active bug bounty program provides additional security incentives for responsible disclosure of any vulnerabilities.
No. DAI Staking is a fully permissionless decentralized protocol — no account registration, email address, phone number, government ID, or KYC process is required at any point. Your identity on-chain is only your wallet address. DAI Staking never collects, processes, or stores any personal data. The only requirement is a wallet containing DAI tokens on Ethereum or BNB Chain.
The minimum DAI staking amount is 100 DAI on both Ethereum and BNB Chain, which activates the Stable tier. The Growth tier requires 5,000 DAI, and the Vault tier requires 50,000 DAI. There is no maximum DAI staking limit — you can stake any amount above the tier minimum. Tier upgrades are automatic when your staked DAI balance crosses the next tier threshold.
DAI Staking generates yield from several sources: protocol fee revenue from DeFi interactions, lending market integrations where staked DAI earns base borrow rates, liquidity provision to DEX stablecoin pools on Curve and Uniswap V3, and treasury management strategies. All revenue flows back to stakers proportionally to their staked DAI balance. The protocol is fully transparent — revenue sources and allocations are published in real-time on-chain.
DAI rewards are calculated per block (every ~12 seconds on Ethereum, ~3 seconds on BNB Chain) and accumulate continuously in your staking position. You can claim them at any time by clicking "Claim Rewards" — this sends all pending DAI to your wallet. There is no schedule enforced for claiming. More frequent claiming is more gas-intensive; weekly or monthly claiming is more cost-efficient for most DAI staking positions.
Auto-compound is available for Growth and Vault tier DAI stakers. When enabled, a smart contract keeper automatically restakes your accrued DAI rewards back into your staking position once every 24 hours, without you paying any extra gas. Your staking principal grows daily, and future rewards are calculated on the larger compounded balance. This maximizes long-term DAI staking yield without requiring you to manually claim and restake rewards.
Yes, for all flexible DAI staking positions (the default). Click "Unstake" in your dashboard, enter the amount of DAI to withdraw, and confirm. Your DAI arrives in your wallet in the same transaction block — no waiting period, no cooldown, no penalty. If you entered a voluntary locked staking period, early unstaking is still possible but may incur a small early-exit fee that was disclosed when you locked the position.
The DAI Staking protocol fee is 0.01% of the reward amount, deducted at the time of claiming. Stable tier stakers pay the full 0.01%; Growth stakers receive a 20% discount on this fee; Vault tier stakers pay zero protocol fees on all reward claims. You also pay the standard Ethereum or BNB Chain network gas fee for staking, unstaking, and claim transactions. All fees are disclosed before you confirm any transaction — there are no hidden charges.
Yes. dai-staking.com is fully responsive for mobile. Open the site in the MetaMask mobile app's built-in DApp browser, or use WalletConnect to connect any mobile wallet (Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, etc.) via QR code. All DAI staking actions — deposit, withdraw, claim, switch networks, view positions — are available on mobile with the same features as desktop.
Tax treatment of DAI staking rewards varies by country and individual circumstances. In many jurisdictions, staking rewards are treated as ordinary income at the time of receipt. DAI Staking provides a complete, exportable transaction history (CSV) from your dashboard for all staking, unstaking, and claim events, which you can import into crypto tax tools or provide to your accountant. Consult a qualified tax professional for advice specific to your jurisdiction.
DAI is available on virtually all major exchanges and DEXes. On Ethereum, swap ETH or USDC for DAI on Uniswap V3, Curve, or 1inch. On BNB Chain, swap BNB or USDT for DAI (BEP-20) on PancakeSwap. DAI is also available on centralized exchanges including Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken. Always verify you're purchasing the correct DAI contract address from the official MakerDAO or dai-staking.com documentation before purchasing.
DAI is maintained by MakerDAO's collateralized debt position (CDP) system. Users lock crypto assets (ETH, WBTC, USDC, and others) as over-collateralized collateral to mint DAI. If the collateral value drops, the CDP is liquidated automatically, ensuring DAI remains backed above $1. The MakerDAO governance can also adjust the DAI Savings Rate (DSR) to influence supply. This mechanism has kept DAI stable at $1 since 2017, making it one of the most battle-tested stablecoins in DeFi.
Every staked DAI earns on-chain governance votes on the DAI Staking protocol. Stable tier stakers receive 1× vote weight per DAI; Growth tier 2×; Vault tier 5×. Any staker can submit proposals to adjust fee parameters, reward distributions, tier thresholds, supported networks, and smart contract upgrades. Proposals are open for a defined voting window and executed automatically by the governance contract if quorum and majority thresholds are met. The entire process is verifiable on-chain.
Yes. Each wallet address is an independent staking participant — there is no concept of a linked user account in DAI Staking. If you hold DAI across multiple wallets, each stakes separately and earns its own rewards. Tier eligibility is per wallet: to reach the Growth or Vault tier benefits, a single wallet address must hold the minimum threshold staked. Consolidating DAI into fewer wallets may unlock higher tiers and better APY for those positions.
Because DAI Staking uses non-custodial, non-upgradeable smart contracts, your staked DAI is never at risk from protocol operational decisions. Even if the dai-staking.com interface goes offline, the unstaking function on the smart contract remains directly callable via Etherscan or BscScan forever. No team action is required to recover your DAI — you always retain direct access to your funds through the blockchain itself.
Yes. Any DAI staker can generate a unique referral link tied to their wallet address. When someone deposits DAI using your link, you earn a percentage of their protocol fee as a referral reward, paid in DAI directly to your wallet with no delay. Referral rewards accumulate on top of your regular staking APY and have no cap. The referral dashboard is accessible from the main staking interface after connecting your wallet.
Yes, as long as you have sufficient DAI. DAI staking in dai-staking.com and DAI liquidity provision in Uniswap, Curve, or other DEXes are completely independent activities — they each use their own portion of your DAI and do not interact. Many DAI holders split their holdings: stake a portion on dai-staking.com for predictable stable yield, and provide the rest to DEX pools for trading fee income. The optimal split depends on current APY rates for each strategy.
For most DAI holders, staking on dai-staking.com offers significantly higher yield than holding DAI in a hardware wallet or software wallet earning nothing. Compared to MakerDAO's native DAI Savings Rate (DSR, currently ~5%), DAI Staking typically offers 8–36% APY depending on tier — though this comes with additional protocol risk that the DSR does not. Evaluate your risk tolerance and always consider that higher yield reflects higher protocol complexity.
After connecting your wallet, your DAI Staking dashboard displays a complete transaction history of all stakes, unstakes, and reward claims linked to your address. You can export this as a CSV file for use with tax software (Koinly, CoinTracker, TaxBit) or to share with your accountant. All DAI staking transactions are also permanently recorded on-chain and viewable on Etherscan (Ethereum) or BscScan (BNB Chain) using your wallet address.
The main risks of DAI staking are: (1) smart contract risk — a bug in the staking contract could potentially affect funds, mitigated by two audits and a bug bounty; (2) DAI de-peg risk — in an extreme market event, DAI could temporarily lose its $1 peg, though this has never happened significantly in DAI's history; (3) variable APY — DAI staking yield fluctuates with protocol revenue and could decrease. DAI staking carries far less price risk than staking volatile tokens, but DeFi always carries non-zero smart contract risk.
Tier upgrades in DAI Staking are fully automatic. When your total staked DAI balance reaches the minimum threshold for a higher tier, your position upgrades in the same deposit transaction. No separate tier-change action is needed. For example, if you have 3,000 DAI staked (Stable) and add 2,000 more, your combined 5,000 DAI immediately activates the Growth tier APY and reward multiplier from the next block. Tier downgrade does not occur until you unstake below the tier minimum.
Currently, DAI Staking only supports the DAI stablecoin as the stakeable asset, on both Ethereum and BNB Chain. USDC and USDT are not accepted as staking assets on this protocol. If you hold USDC or USDT and want to use DAI Staking, you can swap them for DAI on Uniswap, Curve (Ethereum), or PancakeSwap (BNB Chain) before depositing. Support for additional stablecoin assets may be added in future governance proposals.
DAI Staking maintains an active bug bounty program offering DAI rewards for responsible disclosure of vulnerabilities in the staking smart contracts or web interface. Bounties are scaled by severity — critical vulnerabilities that could result in loss of staked DAI receive the highest awards. All reports must be submitted through the secure channel on dai-staking.com/security and must not be publicly disclosed until a fix has been deployed and the disclosure period has passed.
DAI Staking support is available via the official Telegram community, Discord server, and the documentation portal at dai-staking.com/docs. The support team is active in all official channels and typically responds within a few hours. For transaction-specific issues, have your wallet address and the Ethereum or BNB Chain transaction hash (TXID) ready. Never share your private key or seed phrase with anyone — DAI Staking support will never request them under any circumstances.
